Paul can't wait to play in Israel [Posted by Dave Haber on Wednesday, 08/27/08 3:17 pm] [Permalink] [Digg This]On his official website today, Paul McCartney has made the announcement of his upcoming performance in Israel official, calling it his "Friendship First" concert.
Paul said, "I've heard so many great things about Tel Aviv and Israel, but hearing is one thing and experiencing it for yourself is another. We are planning to have a great time and a great evening. We can't wait to get out there and rock."
Earlier this year, Israel's ambassador to Britain, Ron Prosor, apologised to The Beatles during a trip to Liverpool for the "misunderstanding" that caused the Beatle's visit to Israel in 1965 to be cancelled. In a letter he wrote, "There is no doubt that it was a great missed opportunity to prevent people like you, who shaped the minds of the generation, to come to Israel and perform."
Paul's gig in Tel Aviv, Israel, will take place on Thursday, September 25. Check our What Goes On Beatles Events Calendar frequently for concert info updates.

Dangerous email scam targets Beatles fans [Posted by Dave Haber on Wednesday, 08/20/08 7:21 pm] [Permalink] [Digg This] A computer forensics expert at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has warned email messages with the subject line "The Beatles - Back Together Again" is a dangerous email scam that tries to lure you into clicking on a fake link, which then installs malicious software on their computer.
Gary Warner, who operates UAB's Spam Data Mine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, said that at least 36 percent of e-mails received Tuesday morning pointed to a malware site. Other fake subject lines included "Weekly Top News" and "You've received a greeting card."
Last week, hundreds of millions of spam messages were sent impersonating CNN and MSNBC. Spammers have impersonated major Internet sites, including news sites, for years. In 2006, a widespread spam campaign impersonated the BBC Web site.
Remember, don't open email from addresses you don't recognize, and don't ever click on links in email you're not sure about.
